This poor neglected blog. It has been extremely long to even think about the last time I blogged on her. But it is time to get back on the saddle again and back to blogging.
Hilary Brooke Collection has come a long way in the last several years. I guess since my little Eli was born. Once Eli was born on March 13th in 2010 (almost) 2 years ago I stopped working full-time as a Registered Dietitian. I decided to stay at home full-time with my growing family and work on growing my small business. Don't get me wrong...I love being a dietitian and I still work about 3 days per month, but my family only happens once and these growing/learning moments for my boys only happen once. So for us it was our decision for me to stay at home. And it has been a true blessing.

However, since that time our business has grown and lots has been happening over here at HBC. We launched a new website. If you have not had a chance to check it out please stop on by! Just click HERE and you will see what a great job our web-designer has done. Our web-designer is my brother. He does a great job and we appreciate all the sweat and tears he has poured into our site. So this blog has not been updated in a LONG time. For anyone that reads this, I am so sorry! However, after being pregnant for 9+ long months (Eli was 8 days overdue) with the arrival of baby number two things have been quite hectic around our household!

The good news is...

Now that I have transititioned into a stay at home mom (and I am loving it), we are able to focus more and more on Hilary Brooke Collection! We are so excited to announce and present to you our summer (sorry it is kind of late) and fall designs for the small and large tote bags! And here they are...

We have been busy at our household. Chris has been job hunting ever since he graduated in January until now. During that time he and I have worked hard and spent many hours on our slowly growing business. I am proud of what we have accomplished over the last several months. Here is what came to mind:

-We are on facebook....become a fan of our business by searching Hilary Brooke Collection.
-We have our own dot com. Check us out at http://www.hilarybrookecollection.com/ there you can see pictures of our products and designer fabrics that we sell.
-We are selling on etsy. Come to our shop http://www.hbfabrics.etsy.com/ and you will find some great fabrics. We are always adding to our inventory and you can find fun fabrics from designers like Amy Butler, Michael Miller, Alexander Henry, Allison Smith, Anna Griffin, Anna Maria Horner and Erin McMorris.
-We carry about 40-50 different prints of fabric with 20 more arriving by the end of this week.
-We have had a photo session with Tanya of Blue Peach Photography...that way you can see the high quality of our work (and hers).
-We have a craft show on November 19-21st. It will be held in Chelsea MI. (More info to come)

Things are growing and we are happy with our efforts. I will be posting more frequently (hopefully) and sharing pictures of our new products and fabric inventory. Also look forward to Giveaways and Drawings in the near future as well as secret sales on great fabric.

I am currently travelling across the country with my wonderful husband and adorable 2 year-old boy Carter. I am passing out business cards all along the way and hitting every fabric shop in my path. Meanwhile, at home in my sewing room are laying many new bags ready to be sold. So I have been working on bags and MUCH more. So busy I have not had time to update this blog. Please forgive me. However, I have moved forward w/ my "business" if you call it. I have found that at times it is hard to find just the right adorable designer fabric. Either you don't know where to look or there is not a store in your area where you can find anything cute. Bags for Sale

Here they are...the finished bags for sale. The large bag measures 21" wide and 14 1/2" high. It has 3 inside pockets each measuring 7" wide and 7 3/4" high. The small bags measure 16" wide and 14" high. It has 2 inside pockets each measuring 7 1/2" wide and 6" high.

These bags are made with very high quality fabric and some designer fabric. They are very sturdy with interfacing between the fabric. The pockets are big enough to carry a sippy cup, bottle, water bottle or anything else you may want to carry. Please look and send me a message at my e-mail address hilarybrookcollection@yahoo.com if you are interested. From there we can set up payment. I do like to use paypal, but we can work something out. If you have any requests for a particular bag in a particular color, please e-mail me as well. Currently these are the only fabrics I am carrying. More to come in the future. Thanks for looking.

It's Bag Season

I have been sewing in my sleep these days. I appolojize that I have not posted any bags for sale, however I have been bulking up my inventory for a sale at my mother's home this coming Thursday. However, everything that is for sale this Thursday can be reproduced and sold as well. I will be posting what I have for sale in the next few days. Thank you for being patient. This working mom and football widow has been very busy, but am hoping things slow down. Be on the look out for more bags to come.

Getting Started

Making bags has become one of my passions. It all started after I made my first bag to carry my busy toddlers things in. I would carry my bag around the community when stangers would ask me where they could buy my bag. I thought nothing of it until the question came everytime I used the bag. I thought other people might like my bag as much as I do, so I started to sew.

I am a busy mom with a 16 month old boy who is the light of my life, next to my husband of course. I also work full time as a dietitian helping people in that aspect of their lives. I am just getting started in the bag world, but am trying to build up my inventory so that others can enjoy the hilary brooke collection as much as I do.
